In honor of National Running Day, I'm working with Skechers to give away a pair of ProSpeed running shoes.
Skechers is relatively new to the running shoe scene, better known for their casual shoes, cross-trainers and popular Shape-Ups. But their follow-up to the Resistance Runner looks to be a step in the right direction.
Using proprietary Smart Shoe technology, the Pro Speed is designed to permit the wearer to run with a more natural mid-foot strike, helping to reduce stress on the knees and minimize injury.
The shoe is relatively lightweight (around 10 oz, depending on size) and is designed for training or racing. The ProSpeed is intended to simulate "barefoot" running, but is still well-cushioned and provides lots of support. This is not for hardcore minimalists, but perhaps fans of Newton Running shoes or similar low - heel-toe drop cushioned running shoes.
The ProSpeed retails for $100.
But you can get your pair FREE. Since this qualifies as a "major" prize (at least for this blog), you have a chance to earn up to three entries. One for leaving a comment on this post. One for tweeting a link to this post (please include a link to your tweet in your comment). And one for linking to this post from your blog. As usual, the deadline for entries is Saturday at midnight.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a giveaway! I will be training for a 5K this summer, so these would come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI'm putting my name in :) Not sure if it's even fair if I win, though...you know how sweepstakes have those rules against family and all...
ReplyDeleteI'll leave a comment, but since I'm doing that whole minimalist thing, I'll probably just sell the shoes on E-Bay. Does that make me a bad person?
ReplyDeletePS - You need a button so I can put you on my www.adventuremobile.blogspot.com page at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteMissy - I actually moved those buttons to the top of the post. Do you think it makes more sense to have that at the bottom?
ReplyDeleteWould love to win a nice pair of shoes that fit me so I can start C25k training. Pregnancy changed my shoe size and my old running shoes don't fit anymore. :(

These look great! I tried to change to a midfoot stride a while back, with little success, but these look like they would really help achieve that goal.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Count me in on the giveaway. Ran my 1st 5K since '97 today
